Charles H. Pate

Charles H. Pate, age 81, of Beaverton, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Arizona. He was born on November 21, 1941, the son of James and Francis (Hood) Pate. In 1960, Charles married Katherine Farrell in Pontiac, MI, later relocating to Beaverton in 1967. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared a lifetime of adventures, collecting treasures, and creating cherished memories together.

Charles had a keen eye for collectibles, believing that one man’s junk was truly another man’s treasure. His passion for collecting was evident in everything he did, and he valued each item for its unique significance. He was known as a friend to all, always ready to share stories and forge connections with everyone he met. He was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Lilliana); and grandchildren: Cora Jane Pate, Samantha Doherty, Savanna Andrews, Mackenzie Pate, and Joshua Pate. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren and siblings: Marlene Groves, Kathleen Arquette, Donald Pate, and Eleanor Norman.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Katherine; his son, John; his daughter, Kitty; and many siblings.

Cremation has taken place, and graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Arbutus Cemetery.
