EAST LANSINGThe Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSSA) is accepting registrations online for game officials for the 2026-27 school year.The MHSAA registered 9,330 officials for the 202526 school year, an increase of 4.9 percent from the previous year’s total.

MOUNT PLEASANTAfter opening up with a victory, the going got tough for the Gladwin Lightning American Legion Post 171 baseball team at the Iron-Duke Tournament over the weekend.The Lightning beat the Gaylord Baseball Club 17U 10-7 in Friday’s first game at Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart Academy.

The Beaverton 8U softball team won the Beaverton All-Star tournament this weekend with a 4-0 record. Teams at the tournament were Beaverton, Gladwin, Midland Bullock Creek, Sanford, Shepherd and Farwell.
