Irecently found an original U.S.Army photo in a military archive, that was taken March 3, 1943 in Cairo, Egypt. I was following clues that had been uncovered by Bruce Guy before his untimely death. Bruce was researching Beaverton’s World War II flying ace, Colonel Alfred Asch.

Crime Stoppers of Gladwin County received a matching grant in the amount of $2,500 from United Way of Clare and Gladwin Counties. These funds will be used to help support local law enforcement with equipment, training opportunities and their Shop with a Hero program.

Congratulations to Autumn who, with the help of her mother and little sister, chose the exact number of candy pieces in the Candy Jar at the Gladwin Republican’s booth during Fair Week. Her mother, little sister, and Autumn each chose one number to put on the slip, which was 333.

In my lifetime, I have visited the hospital on various occasions. Happy visits like the birth of my daughter and grandsons. There also were visits that resulted from an accident of some kind and health issues for myself, family and friends.

Gladwin Area Artist Guild Kid’s Art Camp

The Gladwin Area Artist Guild is offering a free, week long art camp for kids ages 6-11 at the Gladwin Library. Kids will create all sorts of fun projects, paper cup spiders to superhero animals, monster pencil toppers to clothespin ponies. Snacks and story time is provided.
