Windy Monday keeps firefighters busy

The Gladwin County Rural Urban Fire Department, along with firemen from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, responded to a grass fire in Sherman Township Monday. The fire was started by a downed power line and burned 22 acres from Grass Lake to Blue Lake. Monday’s high winds and dry conditions on the ground also resulted in another fallen power line that sparked a major fire along Bensch Road in Clement Township. The Wildwood and Clement Fire Departments responded.
