To the Editor: I would like to make the Gladwin community aware of something special about some of your high school kids. My grandson, Jimmy, is fighting a rare form of cancer.

Looking to combine programs To the Editor: Just recently I found out that they are discontinuing the Direct Your Dollars program through Family Fare on March 1. I have been collecting receipts for combined Gladwin County Historical Society and St.

Body
To the Editor: Life is so different now than when I was growing up. We lived in a house in the country, south of Beaverton and north of Coleman.

To the Editor: I would like to thank my family, friends, church and whole community for all of their encouragement, support, and congratulations during this football season. It was so humbling to see our bleachers filled at both home and away games, signs in yards, store windows, and the many marquees around Gladwin.

Distribution Day volunteers

Body
To the Editor: It has been said, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” Well, this community, called Gladwin County, has compassion in abundance! Christmas Kindness has countless volunteers participating in so many random acts of kindness throughout the year, many done anonymously, that it is simply impossible to keep up with! No matter how hard I might try, I sadly could never compile a complete list of our treasured Christmas Kindness volunteers. However, having said all of that, I would like to try to capture the majority of those who helped with Christmas Kindness Distribution Day 2022 on Saturday, December 17.

Donation thank yous

Body
Each year, as Christmas Kindness catapults to its Distribution Day, our volunteers keep a constant vigil of items still needed. For example, we knew we were really low on warm socks as early as October, so we put the word out to our Gladwin, Beaverton, Rhodes, and Alger communities.

Only 10 days remaining before Christmas Kindness Distribution Day 2022! We will be packing up all of the donations brought in throughout the year next Wednesday (December 14) and taking them to the Knights Of Columbus Hall to prepare for a December 17 Distribution Day!

Sausage Sauerkraut Supper

Body
To the Editor: A tremendous “thank you” to all our loyal and faithful customers for coming to the 79th Annual Our Savior Lutheran Church Sausage and Sauerkraut Supper in Gladwin. This year’s meal was “Drive-Thru Take-Out Only” for the third time.
